The same 52 inch pit in plain orange, for anyone who would rather have a toy that disappears into a room than one that announces itself. Identical construction to the shark version — inflated ring walls, a separate floor chamber, a pump included — with the character moulding left off.
It is the one we would pick for a shared space. A plain round pit reads as furniture in a living room in a way a shark does not, and the solid colour hides the scuffs that a printed design shows. Walls and floor are the same thickness and the same vinyl.
Inflates in two to three minutes. Balls are sold separately; plan on around four hundred for a full fill. Flat surface, clear space around it, no shoes, and a quick valve check at the start of each month. That is the whole of the maintenance.
Who it is for: the same job as the shark in a brighter colour, which is not a small thing in a room that is already busy. The orange version is easier to find in long grass if it ends up in the garden, and in our experience that is where it spends every warm weekend of the year.
Indoors it is a ball pit and outdoors it is a paddling pool with a few inches of water, so rinse it after either. Dry it fully before folding. It is the cheapest way to give a party a toddler zone that does not need supervising every second, and the float guide explains where we would spend more and where we would not.
